The Midlite SONOS® Speaker Mount and In-Wall Power Solution is a versatile tool for wall mounted wireless speakers. Featuring a custom C712515 power adaptor for the SONOS® line of wireless speakers, this kit creates a professional appearance with a quick installation.
Midlite Corporation's SONOS® Speaker Mount and In-Wall Power Solution provides a professional and discrete power solution and mounting system for SONOS® Speakers, as well as other wireless speakers. Using patented Midlite solutions such as the Speedport™ and the Power Jumper IC™, installers can now incorporate SONOS® and other wireless speakers into their projects. The Speedport™ installs quickly and easily with a 2" hole saw, the mounting tabs are capable of suspending up to 30 lbs. The Power Jumper IC™ interconnects provide a low profile in-wall jumper that can feed power through 1” diameter holes. By simply connecting the two ends and applying a strain relief bracket, an installer can successfully relocate power with out the need of an electrical contractor.
The Speedort™ a discrete mounting solution that does not visually take away from a homeowners interior design as the surface that is exposed from the wall is covered by the mounted speaker. Available in white or black, the Speedort™ can blend in with the wall color, speaker color or both. The true benefit to homeowners, is that once it's installed, they will not need to interact with the mount in order to use their electronics. However if the homeowner does need to remove the speaker, they will just need to use a 1/4" wrench to loosen the device. The power supplied to the device will be located closer to the floor, typically in-line with their existing outlets, making it easy to unplug if needed.
The benefits of the SONOS® Speaker Mount and In-Wall Power Solution is the amount of time saved while installing. Needing only a 2" holesaw to make the opening in the wall for the Speedort™, the integrators will not need to worry about cutting an opening too big, too small, or making sure that it is level. All of the connections are pre-terminated and overmolded, meaning there is no wiring needing to be done in the field. Low-voltage integrators can skip having to schedule an electrical contractor and having to pay for their services. The two mounting tabs secure with a Philips head screwdriver, as does the strain relief bracket on the in-wall interconnects. The power inlet is overmolded as well, meaning it can be installed with the supplied Single Gang Pocket Plate™, or incorporated into a pre-existing multi-gang box or low voltage bracket. The power can then be run through a surge protected behind furniture or run to a different room. The average install time is 5-10 minutes depending on possible obstructions within the stud cavity when passing the wire. The SONOS® Speaker Mount and In-Wall Power Solution allows integrators the flexibility to wall mount wireless speakers and avoid having to run the power cords down the wall and behind on-wall cable covers. The only other current alternative is to hire an electrician who will install an outlet near a wall mount, and hide the power cord as best they can. This method would not allow for a surge protector or allow the homeowner a quick means to disconnect power to the device.
