Futurian Systems - Old Pub New Tech
(To view the images, please click on the product/project name.)
When it comes to innovation, this system truly exemplifies how creative Futurian can be with the solutions they deliver. In an old-school type space, this new age technology brings a unique system that delivers an awesome experience to the homeowner and guests alike.
The Vail Valley, CO division of Futurian Systems was approached to help design a vintage English Pub/Bar that would deliver a unique experience with a variety of high-end electronics. Not only would the space offer some delicious libations coupled with great sounding audio, ultra-high-definition video, and some really cool lighting, but a completely unexpected way in which to access a hidden saferoom!
From the beginning of construction of the room, Futurian was involved. Strategically routing the very best wiring available in preparation for audio and video distribution, LED lighting, electronic door locks, and access control buttons. Futurian also planned well in advance to future-proof the room for technology of today and tomorrow. Futurian’s team managed all details of the project to successfully achieve all of the homeowner’s desires.
One of the most ingenious features of the system was how Futurian went about installing the technology to create access to a safe behind a hidden door. Reminiscent of the days of old mansions with hidden staircases, secret passageways, and other nooks and crannies, this pub has a big surprise with a push of cloaked button.

Futurian Systems - Longhorn Spirit
(To view the images, please click on the product/project name.)
University of Texas Alumni are known to possess a long-lasting spirit for their school. That pride for U.T. carries over into this home which contains not only a wealth of memorabilia, but technology that exemplifies the enthusiasm for the great college it’s known to be.
The North Texas division of Futurian Systems was contacted to build a completely custom home system in this almost 8,000 square foot home. The design was to take into account the desire to perfectly accent all of the collectibles that would be placed around the home. Lighting, motorized shades, audio, and video all had to highlight the obvious dedication to the college.
The project took almost two years to complete starting with a pre-wire that addressed every type of current technology while preparing the home for the future. With over forty windows that required motorized shades, wiring for those alone was a huge task in of itself. Sixteen zones of audio and ultra-high-definition video, full camera surveillance covering the outside, WiFi Access Points throughout, robust security, and expansive home automation features added to the already demanding pre-wire requirements.
With an oversized closet dedicated to multiple equipment racks full of electronics, there was more than enough room to build a very large system to operate the entire home. Two full size racks connected together and loaded with devices demonstrates just how powerful this system has become.

Palmetto Bluff Luxury Home
(To view the images, please click on the product/project name.)
The goal was to take a multi million dollar low country style home and add all the home technology possible without taking away from the old country feel.
We designed a home automation system consisting of:
Elan Home Automation Controller
84 Centralized and 24 local Lutron QS lighting zones
3 dedicated landscape lighting zones
17 Lutron QS Roller and Roman shades on custom woven fabrics
4 motion controlled energy recovery ventilators
Integration of 4 motorized outdoor porch screens
10 zones of 4K HDMI video distribution
8 local 4K video zones
12 zones of distributed audio
45 integrated zones of security, fire, and water detection.
6 HD IP camera locations with data storage
Network distribution and AC WIFI coverage for 11,000 sgft house
Pool and spa integration
Integration of fireplace control
Bluebolt battery backup and energy management system
The Lutron lighting control system allowed us to reduce wall switch clutter and to program custom lighting scenes for each keypads. Lutron roller shades were built into hidden pockets and the TV’s were built into the ceiling on motorized lifts to help protect the beauty and charm of the house. Motorized outdoor screens were built into trim of the home to keep the "pesky" part of nature out.
The centrally located 4K video and multi zone streaming audio systems were designed to allow any user to access their favorite shows and music from anywhere.
Scene control was key to the outcome of this project. The challenge wasn’t installing all of the unique systems within the house, it was creating one system that would allow all of the individual systems to work together seamlessly from one simple to use platform.

Palmetto Bluff Luxury Home
(To view the images, please click on the product/project name.)
In this lighting/shading project, we designed a centralized lighting control system using Lutron QS Homeworks for a multi-million dollar residence in the coastal low country of South Carolina. The home is composed of three independent structures, which all needed to be part of the lighting control system. The Lutron system was instrumental in the design process to help eliminate wall clutter in rooms that had several zones of lighting. SeeTouch keypads were used tin these rooms and programmed to control scenes rather than individual light zones.
The shading portion of this project was a collaboration between the builder, designer and AIC, where we concealed beautifully woven fabrics on Lutron QS rollers.
The system consists of the following components:
3 Centralized panels (84 total zones)
2 Homeworks QS Processors
4 Hybrid Wired/Wireless RF Repeaters
34 SeeTouch Keypads
6 Pico Keypads - For nightstand controllers used for lights/shades in bedrooms
8 Motion Sensors - Used to activate Energy Recovery Ventilators that were ducted into each of the bathrooms
24 Locally controlled dimmers/switches
2 QS Smart Power Panels - shade transformers
17 Roller Shades - worked with a 3rd party to fabricate custom motorized window solutions; sheer shades and black-out Romans.
QSE-IO - Input/output module. Used to integrate with the audio.video system. This module accepts inputs fro the Elan system to activate two motorized drop down lifts

Hewlett NY Project
(To view the images, please click on the product/project name.)
We took over a project wired by someone else who was unable to finish. The home was completely finished structure wise, including the basement, and was being lived in. Most of the technology was not finished, or working plus they wanted a considerable amount of additional features that involved running, extending or converting wire throughout the house without doing any damage to the finished walls and ceilings.
We added an 11 camera IP based FLIR camera system
A Grandstream IP based telephone with front and side door intercom system
An outdoor Sunbrite TV with an additional DVC speaker for audio
Additional TV's in the kitchen, office and their basement gym, while adding local gaming ports for the existing kids bedroom TV's and basement theater.
A full theater in the basement & finished the surround sound in the master bedroom
A strong wi-fi system that extends to the back yard
The overall goal was to also use systems and components to get as much of the system integrated together as possible, but also make using the system easy with a simple learning curve.

Hewlett NY Project
(To view the images, please click on the product/project name.)
We took over a job that had been already prewired to some extent, but left the client hanging. They had Flat screen TV's in 5 bedrooms that went from not working, to partially working and needed a good amount of set up and wire management.
They had a working TV in the family room, but none in the kitchen, office, gym or back yard.
They had hopes for a theater in the basement that had speaker wire somewhat in place, but a lot still had to get done.
They had a couple of 4x4 matrix switchers sitting on the rack, but not in use.
So we first had to get in there and document all existing conditions to determine what we could do to help them get their house to the condition they had hoped for. There was also an inexpensive security and fire system in place that was not wired correctly and we had to get all that up to par.
The client wanted just about every feature we offer up and running in their home by the time we completed the project and as much of it integrated wherever possible.
Full house audio in all rooms
Theater in the basement
New TV locations in office, kitchen, gym and back patio, integrated with the existing 5 bedroom TV's
IP based phone and intercom system that integrated with our touch screens
A fully automated security, lighting, temperature, flood, front door and internal intercom system,
A 12 camera IP based surveilance system
A solid managed network and wi-fi system

Empty Nesters Reclaim the Kids’ Play Room
(To view the images, please click on the product/project name.)
The primary music listening room was located on the main floor of the house, where the aesthetics and interior design prevented the use of more conventional acoustical treatments. Also, being adjacent room to the primary TV viewing room, made it impractical to use both spaces simultaneously. Another issue was space for the growing vinyl LP collection. The room has more purpose and function than ever before and the clients are delighted to enjoy the views, the open air design and "very noticeable" difference in sound of this room, versus other rooms, with much more expensive equipment.
Control4 is setup to operate the 5.1.2 Atmos System and associated video equipment and lighting control.
- One button operation for watching any video source, e.g., Direct TV, Blu-Ray, Apple TV, Netflix, Vudu, Plex, HBO Go.

Training in Style
(To view the images, please click on the product/project name.)
Gullo borrowed from his residential media room experience to design a dual display system that would enable one wrestler to receive a one-on-one match review on a 22-inch LG monitor in the back of the room while the team watches an instructional video on the 125-inch motorized screen. Having the monitor in a corner allows the coaches to offer individual instruction – including videos of matches from the Internet -- without interfering with the overall practice, Gullo says.
Gullo wired an iPod station into the space where kids can plug in their phones for playback through six Klipsch Pro Audio Loudspeakers mounted in the corners and sides of the large space with two subwoofers, powered by a commercial grade Crown Amplifier. The sound system is the “biggest and most used part of the room,” he explains.
There’s more AV equipment than meets the eye in the Pearl River training room, something that’s a trademark of every EDG installation. Top-notch gear including a hard drive to store music and videos, a DVD player, amplifier and Control4 gear are hidden in a small closet off the front of the room. EDG installers drilled through concrete walls to make a conduit for wires to the iPod dock, monitor, touchscreen and speakers.
As a finishing touch, outside the training room, in the Gym entry, EDG wired in an LCD monitor that serves as a digital sign for the athletic department. That replaces a whiteboard and marker outside the athletic director’s office that was nowhere near the gym. This facility now rivals college wrestling rooms and has become a major source of pride in the community. The “buzz” brought back alumni from the late 1960’s and 70’s and packed the stands at every home meet.

Scott Back to Work
(To view the images, please click on the product/project name.)
This is an assistive technology system to provide environmental control to a functional quadriplegic. Cybermation was asked to integrate the client's current home electronics, automate existing equipment and add the necessary control systems to enable a high level of control of his apartment, and also provide the necessary functionality to enable him to return to work.
Challenges included how to control an existing Invacare bed, to use the existing Stanley door opener, how to enable the client to remotely activatte the apartment front door locking mechanism, and to make this all transferable from bed to wheelchair and back easily for personal care assistants.
Our equipment included an Elan GSC10 g! controller, Lutron RadioRA with dimmer switches and plug in modules, Panamax Power Conditioning, Engenious Router, Tetramouse "Quadmouse" programmable tongue/lip controlled mouse, Broadened Horizon "3rd Arm" mounting hardware, RoboArm articulating mount with quick couplers for ease-of-transfer, Toshiba 15" laptop with solid state hard drive, Dragon Naturally Speaking control/text-to-speech software, high-sensitivity mountable USB microphone, and an array of custom made hardware specced by us and built by Theisen Design & Manufacturing.
We disassembled the bed controller to determine contact points to solder wires to provide contact closure control through the g! controller for the bed. We obtained wiring diagrams of the Stanley door opener/lock mechanism to determine how to do the same.
Beyond the hardware, we deduced what could be controlled via the Elan system, through conventional browser software, and finally where text-to-speech could be used to provide a system robust enough to enable the client to operate the computer in a work environment sufficient for gainful employment in a career field of his desires.

Huge Guest House
(To view the images, please click on the product/project name.)
This 14,000 square foot home located on 90-acre site in Castle Pines, Colorado is fully equipped with Crestron lighting, audio, video, surveillance, security, and home automation. The homeowner was referred to Logic Integration by a long time builder relationship. For this project, the importance of an incredibly easy-to-use control system with high-end, whole house audio and a pro audio line array experience was emphasized by the client.
These homeowners knew they wanted home automation throughout their home with a heavy emphasis on the audio portion. This mega-project required significant planning and communication between the Logic Integration team and the client to ensure an easy-to-use, custom experience. The audio inside and outside the home needed to be able to get big with out being seen. The home must be ready to go at anytime for last minute events.
With the technology being used daily by the family members and guests, it was essential that each user could quickly select a room and an action. Logic Integration worked closely with the homeowners to ensure the intuitiveness of their iPad interface and the layout for the 16 x 16 room digital control system. Each family member was given their own unique user code and the ability to sign in to a user interface designed for them. This enabled the system to easily support parent controls and make sure each user is comfortable when using the system. Additionally, climate control, locking/unlocking doors, and an intercom system are built into each user's iPad. A concert worthy QSC Line Array audio system was hung in the great hall with dedicated amplifiers and DSP processing. The outdoor audio has a total of 18 speakers with subwoofers in the ground as well. This home is remotely managed by Logic Integration’s IT team.

J&L Theater
(To view the images, please click on the product/project name.)
Our client wanted a unique space where they could not only watch all the latest block-buster movies in Dolby Atmos surround sound, but also desired a secondary space where they could simply sit back with a glass of wine and watch the news.
The challenge as you can see was the space itself. The bonus room was just large enough to create the theater but we had no additional space for the sitting and wine areas.
During our discovery meetings we found that adding a wine tasting area along with a full wine cellar were at the top of the clients wish list and they already had the plans and a builder working on that project.
Ultimately the back wall was removed and the entire contents of the adjacent attic were relocated to allow for the wine cellar, sitting area and equipment location.
The client wanted a dedicated area for theater seating but had need for additional seats for visitors that didn't want to watch an entire movie. We worked together to create a bar with additional seating directly behind the theaters custom leather seats.
As you can tell from each of the before and after photos, this was a HUGE transformation of the clients existing space that turned out as a world-class space and more importantly,. stayed on budget.

Leavitt home
(To view the images, please click on the product/project name.)
This past May, Shanna Leavitt’s two daughters were diagnosed with Friedreich's Ataxia, a disease that causes progressive damage to the nervous system. Within a few weeks of the diagnosis, Leavitt’s youngest child was put in a wheelchair as the symptoms began to impair her muscle coordination. Leavitt realized that, in order to keep living in her Calgary-based home, she would have to invest in significant renovations to make the home more functional and accessible for her and her daughters in the years to come.
She conveyed her issues to friend Gregg Jones, a Technical Sales Manager at Product Solutions West, who realized that he could apply a smart home system design to provide “digital caregiving” for the Leavitt family. To do so, he solicited dozens of custom installation vendors— including Core Brands, Aprilaire, Centralite, and more — to see if they would donate product or services to build a wheelchair-accessible smart home for the Leavitt family.
He received instant support and many gracious donations to help transform the home. The extensive renovation included demolition, indoor and outdoor remodeling, and most notably, the integration of a customized new smart home infrastructure built on an ELAN Entertainment & Control System.
