Hewlett NY Project
We took over a job that had been already prewired to some extent, but left the client hanging. They had Flat screen TV's in 5 bedrooms that went from not working, to partially working and needed a good amount of set up and wire management.
They had a working TV in the family room, but none in the kitchen, office, gym or back yard.
They had hopes for a theater in the basement that had speaker wire somewhat in place, but a lot still had to get done.
They had a couple of 4x4 matrix switchers sitting on the rack, but not in use.
So we first had to get in there and document all existing conditions to determine what we could do to help them get their house to the condition they had hoped for. There was also an inexpensive security and fire system in place that was not wired correctly and we had to get all that up to par.
The client wanted just about every feature we offer up and running in their home by the time we completed the project and as much of it integrated wherever possible.
Full house audio in all rooms
Theater in the basement
New TV locations in office, kitchen, gym and back patio, integrated with the existing 5 bedroom TV's
IP based phone and intercom system that integrated with our touch screens
A fully automated security, lighting, temperature, flood, front door and internal intercom system,
A 12 camera IP based surveilance system
A solid managed network and wi-fi system
Scope of job was to get all sub systems up and running, then integrate them together where possible for a seamless control standpoint. Specific goals were to
Get the security system up and functioning correctly using a vendor who could provide complete integration
Get the lighting system up and running and integrated
Install a smart temperature system and get it communicating to the omni system
Get water leak protection in place with an automated water shut off valve
Get a house audio system up and running
Get all existing bedroom TV's functioning properly and on the matrix switchers
Get new TV locations set up in the kitchen, office, gym and outdoor rear patio
Get an IP phone system in place with a front door intercom and several portable units
Install a new IP camera system that had to be wired from scratch in a fully finished house from basement to 2nd floor.
Design and install a home theater in the basement
Then integrate the security, lighting, thermostats, water leak protection, on the Leviton omni system, with several touch screen locations along with a Grand Stream phone system that integrates with the omni system and front door intercom.
Supply a missing AV SS reciever for master bedroom and set up IR control
Get a solid wi fi system in place for the house and back yard
Once we were done, they had a working security system that seamlessly worked with their Lutron lighting system, Leviton thermostats, KZ water shut off valve, front door and room to room intercom via phones, apps, or touch screens.
We also set up a Denon Heos music system, with 2 - 4room controllers at the rack, and a dedicated Heos link for the rear patio and master bedroom surround sound system.
We installed a Sunbrite TV on their rear patio, with a local speaker for TV or music from the Heos system using a mini 35watt locally installed amp to power the speaker.
Their cameras system is a stand alone FLIR system that has local access from their monitor, or remote access through their phones and pads.
We have several omni touch 7 screens throughout the house for direct access to their security, thermostats, lighting and intercom features along with a grand stream phone system that is also front door and local intercom accessible and integrates with the omni system. All access is set up on their cell phones and I pads offering portable access locally and remote, along with thier in wall touch screens
The flood sensors are monitored by the omni panel and communicate to the KZ valve to shut the main valve off in case of a water leak. We were able to get flood sensors in the attic air handler areas for notification, and 2nd floor laundry area, and basement boiler room and laundry for notification and KZ valve shut down. There is also notification through the system's software in case a leak or other important features of their home go into a troubled state. We have several in wall speakers throughout key areas of the hosue to announce conditional messages about the house.
We installed a surround sound system with 2 dual in wall subs, 6 ceiling speakers and a front speaker bar in their basemement with back lit LED lighting behind TV. and finished the surround sound system in their master bedroom. All the lighting in the house is lutron radio ra2. Most switches are in the control room with local keypads for direct control.
We installed a luxul network with POE switches, router, controller and two dual band WAP's
We have a "how to and what to do booklet" we hand all our clients regarding the Levition Omni automation system that walks them through the ins and outs of the system and what to do in case of a trouble or an alert. We also have them set up on a VPN connection so i can remote in at any time to make adjustments and check site conditions.
Dear Stephen Merola (Futuristic Home ):
I have to say how you and your company has changed our lives. In short, two years ago, we started on an endeavor to build our dream home. We first ran into issues with our original automation contractor who disappeared on us after wiring up our home. After looking for many new Automation contractors, we were highly recommended to Futuristic Home and could not of been more happier from our initial introduction. Stephen was very knowledgeable in his expertise. He knew he was going to have a difficult job in using the existing wiring since he came after all the walls were closed and painted. He was able to give us the best alarm, smoke, water, carbon detection system around. He was able to combine, All my lighting, alarm camera air conditioning and heat are integrated to my phone and control panels throughout my home. Futuristic home build us a wonderful theater which is all integrated to one controller.
Overall, the work ethics of Stephen and his employees are incredible and there ability to get the job done was not an issue When they left for the day, my home was spotless like you would have not even known they were there. They came when they said they were coming and to this day I can call them my friends. I would recommend you highly to anyone that needs a great automation company.
