The Beus Center for Law and Society (formerly known as the Arizona Center for Law and Society) is the new home to the Sandra Day O-Conner College of Law at Arizona State University, as well as several other organizations. The building space uses form and function to connect students, visitors, and the general public to the role of justice in society.
The BCLS was designed to be inviting, engaging, and accessible to everyone who is interested in learning about the law, its effect on our daily lives, and the many services and resources available through ASU and other BCLS partners.
As the largest AV integration project of 2016, ASU was anxious to learn from past experiences and not repeat the challenges encountered other large integration projects. The first step was the standard RFP process and collecting bids. Each bid was reviewed for required documentation, pricing, and format. From there, ASU selected 3 competing firms and interviewed the project team from each. This gave ASU the opportunity to ask questions, meet the team they would be dealing with on the project, and verify that the firm knew the full scope of what they were bidding. After this process, ASU awarded the project to Level 3 AV based on the interview presentation, project team compatibility, and overall understanding of the project.
JBA provided a very detailed design, which we worked closely with JBA to modify as items changed or new functionality was requested. Typical consultant packages are ‘concepts’, however, this one was very detailed (they even designed the floor plates, which we then spent time redesigning).
Level 3 Audiovisual is extremely confident in the design and installation of this fully integrated project, that we have covered the entire AV package for 5 years in maintenance and warranty.
As stated above, this project was designed to be inviting, engaging, and accessible to everyone who is interested in learning about the law, its effect on our daily lives, and the many services and resources available through ASU and other BCLS partners.
“The Arizona Center for Law and Society is another wonderful addition to our growing campus in the heart of Phoenix,” Crow said. “Having the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law in downtown Phoenix fits perfectly with ASU’s mission of building strong learning and career connections with media, healthcare, corporate and government organizations for the more than 11,500 students at the downtown campus.”
