Custom Xfinity Integration (CXI) provides resources for integrators to work directly with Comcast on behalf of our joint customers. This allows custom home integrators to have access to the tools and resources needed for successful integration between A/V and networking equipment and Comcast products and services.
Custom Xfinity Integration is available to all custom home integrators and manufacturers. This program ensures a smooth interaction between integrators and Comcast. In the past, the customer had to be involved in every part of the process to set up a Comcast installation or upgrade. With the creation of CXI, the home integrator can now work directly with Comcast to allow for easier equipment ordering and knowledge, scheduling, and integration. The integrators now have a designated support line that gives them an easy communication path to top tier engineers and analysts that understand the CEDIA space and equipment. The engineers have access to a fully outfitted lab and are able to recreate issues that may be found in the field and suggest changes in programming or the setup of the equipment.
The CXI team has relationships with all of the top A/V, TV, Control, and remote manufacturers to make ensure integration is successful for the integrators and customers. If a bug is discovered, the CXI team can recreate it in the lab and work with all relevant parties to find a fast resolution.
CXI also allows for innovation in the field of integration. Due to the interactions and relationships with the integrators, we listen to their requests and work hard to develop them. For example, the Rackmount DVR has become very popular amongst integrators, and is only available through the CXI program. The upcoming release of IP Control is also proving to be very heavily desired.
The CXI website and support line provides an easy order entry process, an advanced escalation path, and communication about the always improving Comcast products and services.
- Customers that use custom home integrators want their integrators to own everything from the network, to equipment, to what providers they will use. CXI allows for the integrator to work with Comcast on their behalf to select the correct equipment, services, and products to provide the best home network and TV experience. There is no need for the customer to work as a go-between and this allows for easier equipment ordering and scheduling.
- The CXI team includes a billing expert that can package the customer into the best price available in their market. This billing expert processes every order from integrators and ensures the price and equipment is exactly what is needed to allow for a smooth installation or upgrade.
- Since CXI is usually involved from the beginning of the customer's relationship with Comcast, the team becomes familiar with the home setup and can easily help with troubleshooting based on their knowledge of the customer's home and has the background needed to fully support all of the customer needs.
- CXI has access to products that are not available to the general public. For example, the Rackmount DVR has a sleek look that improves the appearance of a customer's rack.
- When an integrator signs up for CXI, they gain access to a full range of support. This includes a website for requests for new installs, equipment, service calls, etc.
- CXI has a designated support line that is hosted by the CXI team and provides a high level of support not typically available for integrators or customers.
- Since the CXI team was created by former integrators, the team understands the issues that integrators encounter while in the home and can work quickly to resolve any integration issues.
- CXI has full access to a lab with every major TV brand, control system, remotes, cameras, etc. If the equipment in question is not in the lab, it can be quickly procured to help with any setup or troubleshooting needs
- The CXI team is small and a relationship is built between the members of the team and the integrators, this makes it easier for an integrator to call about a customer because the CXI team may have already been helping with the account and is familiar with the setup and infrastructure of the home.
- The CXI team also has an engineer that can fly to high profile customers, or homes with a complex setup to ensure the installation goes smoothly, or to help with any needed on hands support.
- If a common issue is discovered with a popular brand or model of equipment, Comcast can work directly with the manufacturer to fix the outstanding issues due to relationships already in place.
- Integrators sign an NDA as part of the onboarding process, which allows them to have access to news and alerts not commonly provided to the general public.
