cyberManor is very excited to launch our first annual issue of Smart Home Magazine. The goal of this magazine is to help our clients and builder partners better understand the premium connected home technologies that are now available to enrich the way you live, work and play in your home using smart phones, tablets, smart watches or TVs.

The solutions and columns in this magazine are based on cyberManor's experience with these app based solutions for the hundreds of clients that we have served for over the last fifteen years. Our featured column showcases what we believe are the best of breed whole house audio, TV and movies, comfort and well being, security and access control solutions for the home. These are not total home control systems that require extensive and ongoing customized programming. These are systems and solutions that have a proven history of reliability, ease of use, and innovation to provide exceptional whole house audio, TV, lighting control, and security experiences. Gordon van Zuiden's detailed thoughts on cyberManor's Best of Breed home technology integration strategy are expressed in the Q&A section.

We also review our new Smart Home Experience Center iPad application, the importance of planning and construction documentation for home technology solutions, the benefits of remote monitoring and the new Apple TV announcement. Later in the issue we follow the Jones family - predicting how technology will influence a typical day in the life of a family of four in the year 2020.

At our cyberManor Smart Home Experience Center we will be monitoring the best of these new technologies and upgrading our own home to give existing and potential clients the opportunity to experience these new entertainment, comfort, and security solutions.

As a historical side note:
Almost a century ago General Electric sent a magazine called the The HOME of a HUNDRED COMFORTS (see: http://www.flipsnack.com/5FB57CEC5A8/the-home-of-a-hundred-comforts-fdksz02w.html#2) to homeowners in the 1920’s to describe the benefits of a well planned, whole house electrical wiring infrastructure for the early 20th century smart, modern home.

Today cyberManor discusses the benefits of a properly planned low voltage wiring infrastructure, one that allows networked devices to connect to a high speed network backbone and the internet cloud. Once again history repeats itself – but now whole house low voltage structured wiring is critically important in today’s smart, modern home. Our Smart Home Magazine is the modern day equivalent of The HOME of a HUNDRED COMFORTS.

Project Scope
The scope of this project was to provide a custom integrator's prospective on Smart Home products and solutions based on our years of custom electronic installation experience. We wanted to produce a reference magazine that assists homeowners, builders, architects, and interior designer with practical, vetted knowledge on best of breed smart home control and entertainment products/services that need to be considered when building or remodeling a home. This magazine is intended as a resource for any client building or remodeling a home who needs to know that they are choosing the right smart home products for their technology needs today and tomorrow - along with the right builder, architect, and custom installer to ensure the success of their project.

We will be publishing and distributing 500 premium paper hardcopies of this magazine in January, 2016. About half of these magazines will be custom printed with a full page ad of our builder partners on the back page (as shown in the digital link above) for them to hand out to their clients. The other half of the printed magazines will be distributed by cyberManor to our current and prospective clients.

Publishing this Smart Home magazine with our key partners having a full page ad on the back of the magazine promotes their business by demonstrating knowledge of smart homes and showcases cyberManor as the trusted custom integrator for these solutions. We are branding cyberManor as their Custom Home Technology Partner.

We have received great acceptance of this Smart Home Magazine from our builder partners. Half a dozen partners (builders, architects, and interior designers) have signed up to have their full page ad in this magazine and they are excited about delivering this magazine to their clients - a win for us and a win for them.

In addition, our key vendor partners are paying us for ad space or letting us use marketing co-op dollars to defray the cost of printing these magazines. Because we are choosing only our strategic vendor partners we are also building tighter relationships with these vendors - potentially generating future manufacturer originated leads for cyberManor.
