Sporting a 3.5-inch color LCD display and five customizable hard buttons, RTI’s KX3 in-wall touchpanel is a unique hybrid device that combines the capabilities of both a touchscreen controller and a control processor for direct two-way control via IP and RS-232, all within a single cost-effective unit.

From climate and lighting control to entertainment and security systems, the KX3 3.5-inch in-wall touchpanel enhances the control experience, ensuring that any member of a household can effortlessly engage with their surroundings. For extremely intuitive navigation, the KX3 features a high-resolution 3.5-inch color LCD display, five customizable hard buttons, and a completely customizable interface. However, the KX3 is not just a pretty interface, it is a unique hybrid device that combines the capabilities of both a touchscreen controller and an advanced control processor in one cost-effective unit. “Under the hood” is a full-blown central processor offering benefits such as two-way control and feedback from electronic systems via IP and RS-232, and an astronomical clock for time-based events. The versatile unit even has a built-in 2.4 GHz ZigBee^® antenna for connectivity with RTI wireless remotes. The KX3 offers both wired 10/100 Base-T Ethernet and wireless Ethernet for viewing video from network security cameras, and remote programming updates. Other advanced capabilities include six voltage sense ports with sense-event capabilities, four relays for control via contact closure, a proximity sensor to wake up the unit as a user approaches, and an ambient light sensor that adjusts the touchpanel's backlighting in accordance with its surroundings. The touchpanel is also equipped with convenient room status LEDs as well as a camera and microphone for video intercom functionality. The flexible KX3 can be used as an all-in-one, standalone solution for control over electronic systems or integrated as an in-wall touchpanel in a larger RTI control system.
