The 4K Joey is a next-generation set-top box that allows Ultra HD viewing on any 4K TV! Its ultra-slim design allows it to be installed behind a TV or inside a cabinet. It includes built-in Bluetooth 2.2 support for connecting wireless audio devices and features a fast, user-friendly interface.

The 4K Joey is the latest addition to DISH’s Hopper Family of set top boxes!  

Similar to other Joey receivers, the 4K Joey is a thin client receiver. Once connected to a Hopper DVR, the 4K Joey can access hundreds of live or On Demand programs, recorded content or OTT streaming content through built-in apps such as Netflix or Pandora. The 4k Joey is also the first Joey to offer native Bluetooth 2.1, class 2 support for streaming audio to wireless headphones or speakers.

Initially, UHD content will be limited to VOD programs from select partners (content agreements still under negotiation as of the deadline for this entry) as well as Netflix subscribers with a 4K-enabled account.  Additional content, including live linear broadcasts, will be made available as content partners offer programming in 4K.

The 4K Joey includes a super-fast Broadcom 7448 CPU, providing more than 10,000 DMIPs of processing power. This enhanced horsepower enables the rendering of 4k60FPS UltraHD video content, simultaneous viewing of multiple 1080p programs and a super-responsive user experience.

The 4K Joey will work with any 4K display, as well with a large installed base of non-4K displays and projectors, providing an enhanced entertainment experience and a wide variety of SD, HD, and 4K content.
