Elegant Theater

       Since a high quality video experience in this room was a top objective for this client we demoed Sonys laser VPL-VW5000ES projector for him and he loved it. Additionally we incorporated an Oppo UDP-203 and Kaleidescape Strato 4K player to ensure that he could take advantage of actual 4K content as it became more readily available. This client had complained about other supposed high end theaters he had sat in where he had trouble hearing the dialogue and felt the sound quality was low relative to the scale of the room. We wanted to direct him towards a JBL Synthesis system to take advantage of their vast product selection, advanced calibration and performance not only to satisfy his expectations but to overcome some room obstacles as well. This client obviously wanted cutting edge video but high quality audio with the latest sound formats. We settled on incorporating a 7.1.2 system into this room using a Integra DHC-80.6 to help facilitate updated audio formats while the JBL SDEC-4500P applies the sound field management and calibration. Additionally as the client wanted a soft feeling cozy space and also excellent intelligibility with regards to dialogue and sound track we covered most the room with a stretched acoustical fabric system. While this theater was built in this empty nesters dream home they have a large family that visits often so incorporating 8 dedicated theater seats was also a specific request of this client. While the primary purpose of the room is for screening movies it was to be a social atmosphere for watching sports which is another strong factor in the 16:9 screen choice to ensure an immersive experience.
