Ella is the first cloud-based deep-learning engine that augments surveillance systems with natural language search capabilities across recorded video footage. Ella uses algorithmic deep learning tools to give any surveillance or security camera the ability to recognize objects, colors, people, vehicles, animals, creating a Google search for video footage.

The average surveillance camera sees less than two minutes of interesting data each day, but it takes hours to search through continuous video footage to find the right clip. Ella brings search engine capabilities to your video footage, enabling you to find the information and footage you need within seconds. The solution consists of one piece of hardware installed between your surveillance cameras and the deep learning engine that lives on the cloud.

Ella can be queried using natural language processing – a feat previously not possible - for people, animals, colors, dates, and even vehicle types and brands much like a user would perform an internet search. Using encoded metadata, Ella makes it possible for users to search for “red Honda at the front door yesterday” and have the system display only video clips that were captured yesterday when there was a Honda type car that was red by the front door camera.

Ella grows with the user and becomes even more intelligent over time. While other cloud-based video recorders have a bandwidth issue, IC Realtime solves this problem by enabling Ella to highlight and record in HD only the activities that are important as indicated by the AI-based learning engine.

Ella is hardware agnostic and works with any surveillance cameras currently on the market. In fact, from the moment Ella comes online and is connected, it begins learning and tagging objects the cameras sees. With Ella, sharing relevant footage is straight forward – it’s not downloading a clip or being forced to download some proprietary software to view that clip – it’s a simple share button that created a dedicated tokenized link to that specific clip. Sharing that tokenized link also allows those you’ve shared the information with to view, and be limited to view, only that specific clip.

The Ella app features a dynamic but easy to use interface that acts like a simple search engine along with easy access to all your relevant video clips. Ella gives users the ability to vote clips up or down, helping the system get even smarter and customized for their preferences and ultimately will show them only things they really care about.  Natural language processing empowers users to also utilize voice input on devices to query for video and also lets users view their live video feed.

Installation-wise, all that is required by the dealer is the install of the ICR box which is installed between the surveillance system and the customer’s network and the download of the Ella software to bring the system online. Once installed, the system begins to take advantage of the massive Ella cloud library to tag the metadata being fed through the system by the surveillance cameras.
