ELAN Entertainment & Control System
Free to all existing ELAN system users of the latest generation of ELAN controllers.
The comprehensive ELAN 8.2 release further enhances the intuitive ELAN control system and the brand’s “your world, made simple” value proposition. This update adds support for the new ELAN Remotes, Thermostats, and Surveillance solutions, and includes new Alarm, Views Theme, IR library, and AVR refresh features with several performance improvements.
ELAN 8.2 introduces several new enhancements and integrates with more devices than ever before.
For homeowners, the updated software supports the new ELAN HR10 remote, ELAN Thermostats and ELAN Surveillance cameras to simplify and streamline system control. Additionally, new features like the TP Alarm help to further personalize the system for users. The ELAN TP Alarm allows homeowners to set one-time and repeating alarms to ELAN touch panels with the option of a crescendo (soft wake) function that eases users into their day. Custom installers can also trigger Event Maps from Alarms, further customizing the experience for the homeowner.
For integrators, installation has never been easier. The all new ELAN Discovery node within the ELAN Configurator can scan the controller’s IP network for provisioning and configuration of compatible devices in just a few clicks. Additionally, a new ELAN Views feature allows integrators to create a floor plan rendering of the installation, view and control sub-systems in 2D or 3D space, and quickly move from ELAN Views to a standard sub-system view with a tap of a button in the new theme, “ELAN Neo Views.”
Through ELAN 8.2, Cloud IR Library source interfaces can now be modified. Integrators can export, import and create copies of IR Library Sources, and a full library can be made available to be loaded on a PC for offline access. Other enhanced features include an AVR Refresh; updated Device Drivers (offering Autonomic eCast support); ELAN API Updates, which allow the developer to access new media controls introduced in ELAN 8; a Core Installer Update in which backup options are exposed in the installer user interface, and more.
ELAN 8.2 elevates the personalized smart home experience with the most ultra-intuitive, easy-to-use software to date, designed with the homeowner experience in mind. Several new features like the ELAN TP Alarm, enhanced security provisions with a new user account password requirement, and the touch panel disable feature for cleaning purposes, deliver on ELAN’s “your world, made simple” promise.
Along with enhanced features, ELAN 8.2 also offers ELAN HR10 Remote support. The ELAN HR10, a single-room control solution, makes it easier than ever to get the ELAN user interface in more areas than before. It includes a 2.4” Color LCD screen for easy operation and controls one media zone along with lighting and climate.
For use on a touch panel or mobile device, the software features an ultra-intuitive interface complete with media tabs, slider controls, easy-to-use sub-system icons, and custom tab options. The software allows homeowners and integrators to quickly group zones 'on the fly' and toggle between standard zone view and grouping snapshot when needed.
ELAN 8.2 introduces several new enhancements that streamline installation for custom installers.
The new ELAN Discovery feature simplifies set-up with the auto-discover and auto-configure of compatible devices on the network. Introduced in ELAN 8.2, the Discovery node in Configurator can be used to scan IP networks, including wireless, to find all devices by IP and MAC addresses. If a device has an ELAN device driver, integrators can provision and install the device with just a click of a button, saving immeasurable time and trouble.
ELAN Surveillance (NVR/Cameras), ELAN Thermostats, ELAN remotes, and many other device types already support ELAN Discovery. Even more devices are being added regularly, making it easier than ever to install an ELAN system. Devices like ELAN WiFi Thermostat and the HR30 remote, which may be on a separate IP range from the controller, can be simply configured within ELAN Discovery by selecting the “Install” button next to the device.
Additionally, the new ELAN Views feature allows integrators to create a custom floor plan rendering of an installation, and view and control sub-systems in 2D or 3D space. Integrators can quickly move from standard sub-system view to 2D or 2D view, and back again, with a tap of a button in the new theme, “ELAN Neo Views.” Event Maps can be used to trigger the Views layout, so integrators can see which Security sensor tripped in a 2D or 3D model.
