BPS is completely committed to bringing our clients the very best in systems integration design and installation. It’s what we love. It’s what we do. Tequesta is a perfect example.
This Tequesta, Florida waterfront home is the transformation from old-world analog to new-world possibilities. At 16,850sf, multiple systems of lighting, shades, A/V, HVAC, network, and security had to be designed, installed and brought online. In addition to a complete systems upgrade, Tequesta offers a private two lane Brunswick built bowling alley in the gaming wing of the home. To celebrate her love for art and his love for innovation, they wanted to create a next-gen bowling and event space. An interactive gaming environment that pushes the boundaries of creative tech in hopes of offering something unique to family and friends.
In addition to the gaming wing, the rest of the home harbors hundreds of rare and fine art collectibles. Strategic lighting and timed shade deployment is absolutely essential to showcase the better side of every piece. Shades are scheduled with Lutron Hyperion and shadow sensors to move with the sun in order to maximize ambient hues and protect artifacts from direct sunlight. As the sun sets, the landscape lighting accents intimate nooks all the way down to the dock where lighting and audio are also fully integrated. It was important that all interior, exterior, and guest house systems were integrated into one central ethos accessible on keypads, phones, tablets, and touch panel displays throughout the home.
Tequesta is much more than a home, it’s an adventure. Like all adventures, the essentials are in the details.
Tequesta holds the record for largest residential Lutron order of 650 Lutron Finire fixtures and 700’ of Lutron Lumaris for interior lighting. Outside we made history by designing and installing the first Lutron Ecosystem landscape lighting with 200 Garden Light fixtures. Since our client regularly hosts events, it’s imperative that we deliver audio and video to the exterior, patio, guest house, and in every room of the main home. Each room is fully engineered and outfitted with Totem audio and 4K flat panel Sony displays that offer seamless accessibility to Kaleidescape content.
Security is a priority. Tequesta boasts 14 4k cameras to give the client complete streaming anytime, anywhere. 2 Elk security systems support a variety of locking mechanisms between the main home and guest house, including 6 Elk door strikes and a security gate monitored by a camera and keypad. Keystroke combinations are linked to preset scenes curated for special guests.
For events, we equipped the 3,000sf bowling alley with an armada of premium audio and video products. 51,510 programmable LED DMX channels and a panoply of controlled concert lighting offers a full spectrum of ambiance capabilities. The real magic comes from 3 custom mounted Sony laser projectors mapped to the lanes. With accompanying cameras, the use of TouchMagix interactive display software, and Brunswick’s proprietary scoring software, we’re able to trigger graphics for downed pins, bowler performance, and gaming outcomes. This gives us the ability to create responsive projection mapping using original content and apply it to create completely unique bowling environments for our client.
None of this would be possible without a robust, commercial-grade network and communication infrastructure. With Extreme Networks and a customized solution engineered by the BPS team, Tequesta is a network fortress that is flexible, lightning fast, and able to deliver exceptional results across multiple platforms and environments.
Our client had very specific lighting needs for Tequesta. A prized art collection, the ability to frequently entertain distinguished guests, and a bowling alley from the future. The results exceeded client expectations and exemplifies the best of what strategic systems integration can offer. Convenience, control, metrics, monitoring, beautifying, and serving what is most important to us. In addition to offering our client a museum-like environment throughout the home, BPS provided an ensemble of creative and engineered solutions to address specific needs. The true integration of audio, video, lighting, cameras, projectors, interactive software, network, security, and creative imagery offers a completely unique home and immersive event experience. As a bonus, we gave the client access to our workflow and the ability to showcase original content. Thrilled by the ability to do this, they are hosting a fundraiser in the new year to help support a local charity. The entire bowling alley and A/V stations throughout the home will be branded around a specific theme and it will mark a fun first in fundraising.
The transformation of this traditional house and bowling alley to an entirely updated automated home and play space of the future, in the words of our client, is a complete success. What began as an experiment resulted in an experience unlike anything we’ve seen or created before. BPS is grateful to have participated in such a unique project that allows us to work hard and dream.
